The International Banking, Economics and Finance Association (IBEFA) will hold its next Summer Meeting in Portland, Oregon during the 2016 Western Economic Association International Conference on June 29 – July 3.

Members and others are encouraged to submit papers to the conference.

IBEFA seeks conference paper submissions that contribute to its goals of furthering the study of banking and financial systems around the world. We encourage submission of high-quality papers on topics related (but not limited) to:

  • Asset valuation
  • Banking theory
  • CEO compensation
  • Competition and innovation in financial services
  • Credit risk measurement and management
  • Credit securization
  • Derivatives markets and exchanges
  • Developments in Basel capital regulations
  • Empirical studies of financial intermediation
  • Finance-growth nexus
  • Financial stability indicators
  • Household borrowing behavior
  • Liquidity management and regulation
  • Macroprudential supervision
  • Markets for fixed income securities
  • Monetary policy transmission mechanism
  • National mortgage markets
  • Payments systems innovations
  • Trade finance
  • Also, we would like to receive proposals for a complete session including discussants on topics that rank high in the policy makers’ agendas.

    Please note that there is no paper submission fee. However, at least one author from each accepted paper must be a member of IBEFA as of March 15, 2016. Each accepted paper must also pay for one person’s registration to the WEAI Conference, which is available at the WEAI member rate after joining IBEFA.

    Please also communicate whether you would be interested in serving as a discussant or session chair.

    The presenting author will be required to discuss a paper if asked to do so by the Program Chair. The overall quality of our conference is greatly enhanced when presenting authors also provide a high quality discussion of another scholar’s work.
