IBEFA Summer Meeting

The International Banking, Economics and Finance Association (IBEFA) will hold its next Summer Meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii during the 2015 Western Economic Association International Conference on June 28 – July 2.

In addition, IBEFA/Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco will hold a “Day-Ahead Conference,” just before the WEAI Conference on Thursday and Friday, June 25-26 at the San Francisco Fed in San Francisco, California. Members are encouraged to submit papers to both or either conference (submitting to either conference will not affect one's likelihood of being accepted for the other if one desires to present at both).

IBEFA seeks conference paper submissions that contribute to its goals of furthering the study of banking and financial systems around the world. We encourage submission of high-quality papers on topics related (but not limited) to:

  • Banking theory
  • Credit risk measurement and management
  • Derivatives markets and exchanges
  • Financial stability indicators
  • Macroprudential supervision
  • Payments systems innovations
  • Household borrowing behavior
  • Asset valuation
  • Trade finance
  • Empirical studies of financial intermediation
  • Finance-growth nexus
  • Monetary policy transmission mechanism
  • Credit securitization
  • National mortgage markets
  • Competition and innovation in financial services
  • Developments in Basel capital regulations
  • CEO compensation

    Please note that there is no paper submission fee. However, at least one author from each accepted paper must be a member of IBEFA as of February 1, 2015. Each accepted paper must also pay for one persons registration to the WEAI Conference, which is available at the WEAI member rate after joining IBEFA.

    Please also communicate whether you would be interested in serving as a discussant or session chair.
